Chubby since childhood, Robin Janes never imagined she could lose weight, let alone over 200 pounds.*
“All my life, I was always the big kid, and I honestly did not think it was possible to change that,” she said.
Robin’s weight affected everyday things like going to the grocery store or getting up off the couch to get something to drink. She reached a turning point when she had to put her education on hold because she grew too large to fit into her university desk chair.
Everything Fell Into Place
Putting school on hold confirmed to Robin that her weight was affecting her entire life.
“When my weight got really out of control, I was up in the 400s, I would stay in, and I didn’t want to see anybody,” she said. “I felt trapped in my body.”
Robin’s best friend, Heather, introduced her to Isagenix through IsaLean® Shake, even though Robin resisted at first.
“Heather said, ‘I am going to give you this, and you’re going to drink it,’” Robin explained.
Robin drank the shake solely to prove her friend wrong, but a surprising thing happened: She liked them and began to notice a difference in how she felt. Heather gave her a two-week supply of shakes, and soon after, Robin ordered her first pak.

However, she took a laid-back approach to exercising and never forced herself to go to the gym. Most of the time, her exercise consisted of walking or outdoor activities such as snowshoeing or biking. After incorporating Isagenix into her lifestyle, Robin was able to maintain healthy eating and exercise habits, which resulted in a weight loss of over 200 pounds and an invitation to join the Isagenix 100-Pound Club.
“I never had a plan to change,” Robin said. “It kind of just happened; everything fell into place.”
Embracing a Lifestyle Change
The change Robin experienced was more than just physical, as her lifestyle began to change, as well. Before finding Isagenix, it was a struggle for Robin to walk 20 feet without getting winded. Now, she opts to take the stairs five floors instead of waiting for the elevator. She wears size “small” shirts and is still amazed that she can fit into them and now travels regularly. Before, Robin was too large to fit into an airplane seat, but since losing the weight, she can comfortably enjoy a flight.
Now that Robin can fit into the desks at her university again, she is thrilled to be back in school and moving toward completing her education and becoming a teacher.
Out of all of her levels of transformation, Robin is especially proud of her newfound confidence and ability to speak publicly. Before she lost the weight, she refused to speak in front of people and would even drop classes at school if she was required to do a speech or presentation. Now, Robin isn’t fearful to share her story at Isagenix events and has no trouble presenting in her courses.
Focusing on the Future
When it comes to helping others experience weight loss similar to hers, Robin suggests taking the products and eating whole foods.
“It’s not about eating salads,” she said. “You need to have a balanced meal.”
Looking ahead, Robin is focused on finishing school, maintaining her weight loss while building lean muscle, and growing her Isagenix business by attending as many events as she can, especially Celebration.
“Now, I feel like all doors are opened. I don’t have any limitations, and it’s such a change,” said Robin. “My new favorite words to live by are ‘because I can,’ because all my life has been ‘because I can’t.’”
