At the first Give Back event of the year at 2017 New Year Kick Off, START members from around the world came together and represented Isagenix and START’s core value of contribution. More than 80 START members and START Founder Erik Coover traveled to Haven for Hope and served the local San Antonio community.
STARTers teamed up with this incredible organization that is centered on solving the root causes of homelessness and provides job training and employment readiness, education, behavioral health services, spiritual services, and more for men, women, and children. STARTers worked alongside Haven for Hope’s members and other volunteers to help organize donations in the warehouse as well as clean mats for the residents. Many were able to connect with some of the residents, supporting the organization’s mission to recognize and encourage each individual’s potential and purpose.
Thanks to Haven for Hope, the homelessness rate in San Antonio, Texas, has decreased 80 percent since they opened their doors in 2010, and 90 percent of those who graduate from their five- to six-month program do not return to homelessness.
