Congratulations to Isagenix Millionaire No. 209, Team Ten!
Jen was introduced to Isagenix in 2010 when she discovered the products in her roommate Stacy’s kitchen cupboard. As a 1992 Canadian Olympic Trials competitor in gymnastics, Ironman triathlete, and long distance swimmer, she was always searching for the best nutrition to fuel her active lifestyle but never seemed to find a convenient and affordable solution. When she saw the Isagenix products, she wanted to give them a try, so she and Stacy agreed to do their first 30-Day System together.
With the products, Jen went from eating six meals a day and feeling undernourished to cleansing through Christmas and feeling fueled and energized. She noticed an improvement in her training performance, swimming her personal best time with less training and less effort, and for Jen, that was a lightbulb moment.
“That was when I said, ‘Okay, what is this stuff?’” Jen laughs. “That’s where it all began.”
At the time, Jen had been working as a registered massage therapist (RMT) for over 11 years. Despite loving her job, especially helping athletes perform at their best, she was beginning to recognize the challenges of a physical job and trading her time for money. She had always wanted to find a second stream of income to supplement her earnings. The typical three-year burnout rate was a concern for her longevity as an RMT, and in order to earn more money, she would have to work more hours, which was physically impossible.
While training for a triathlon, Jen had crashed her bike and suffered a shoulder injury while training for a triathlon. At the time, she was still working 40 hours a week as a massage therapist and couldn’t afford to take the time off she needed to heal.
“I was working with my shoulder taped together and realized that I was treating people who were far less injured than I was. It was then that I decided I needed a solution to earn money outside of my working income,” she says.
When she learned about residual income and the opportunity Isagenix offered, she knew she found the solution she was looking for.
“I worked really hard by treating my Isagenix business like any other profession and was eventually able to replace my income and pay off my debt,” Jen says.*
This was a huge stress relief, as she remembers a time when she was struggling to make ends meet. It was at this time that she recognized that she was reaching and helping more people than ever with Isagenix, and she decided to retire from her job as an RMT and pursue Isagenix full time.
Creating a ‘Why’ That Is Twofold
“One of the primary things that stands out to me about Isagenix is the community,” Jen says. “Even from day one when I didn’t know anyone, this was a community I was able to plug in to.”
Jen was inspired by the positive, motivating, and forward-thinking people she met, and this is now where she finds her closest friends.
“This is personal development with a compensation plan attached, and I am not the same person I was six years ago when I found Isagenix,” she says. “I am so grateful that Isagenix understands the importance of personal growth and that we are provided with trainers like David T.S. Wood to help us grow into our greatest potential.”
Jen believes that one of the most important aspects of growing personally in this journey is to know your why and that it is twofold. She learned from many Isagenix leaders that there is a personal why, such as wanting to pay off debt, and there is an inclusive why wherein you focus on a vision greater than yourself that attracts and helps others.
“Now that I’ve achieved my personal why, I’m focused on contribution,” she says. “Now, it’s about who I can help, and my why continues to evolve as my journey evolves. My success is a direct result of my team’s success. I am forever grateful to everyone who said yes to Team Ten and to our belief that we all deserve a chance to live into our greatest potential, to be the healthiest we can be, to do what we love every day, and to live life on our terms.”
Jen’s Advice for Getting Started
- Go to events! It’s that simple. Events are your educational investment to learning the skills you need to succeed. Just go to events, and take in everything there is to learn.
- Find your own mentors. You might not have a sponsor or leaders that come to you to help you. Sometimes you have to find leaders that resonate with you and go to them to ask for help. Follow their podcasts and training sessions, and do as they do.
- Be patient. It can take time to grow your network. Give yourself permission to be a beginner as you develop the skills you need to succeed. You will earn as you learn in this business.
- Don’t give up. The business side doesn’t come naturally to everyone. Many people struggle to develop their businesses early on, but it’s important to keep learning and improving.
