Congratulations to Isagenix Millionaire No. 219, Carol Tonkin!
As the owner of a successful online supplement company, Carol answered the phone one day to fill an order and happened to ask the woman on the other end of the line what she did for a living.
“I don’t know what made me ask her,” said Carol. “But looking back, I realize it was a divine connection.”
The woman on the phone was Patty Cepeda, and she told Carol she was a health coach helping others lose weight and decrease body fat. A registered nurse by education, Carol was interested in how Patty was getting results and asked her what kind of protein she was using. Patty told her about Isagenix, and Carol was interested in learning more about the products.
A Little Nudge to Get Started
When Patty and her husband, Herb, told Carol about the Isagenix opportunity, Carol was completely uninterested in the business because she had been involved in a network marketing company years before.
“I’ll try your products, but I’m not interested in another network marketing business,” she told Herb. “But if this works, I might tell a couple people. What do I do?”
Carol remembers Herb telling her to just come in and bring anyone she knew who might be interested. She followed his advice, and she and her twin daughters enrolled that night.
“When my sister, Nancy, came over at Thanksgiving, she looked at the Isagenix boxes in my dining room and insisted we use the products together,” remembered Carol.
The two used the products, and both lost pounds and inches throughout the holidays.
Blossom Where You’re Planted
Despite having positive results, Carol remained uninterested in the business and was determined to keep what she was doing to herself. Soon, people began to ask her about her transformation, so Carol shared her story.
“My business started to grow,” said Carol. “When I realized I was starting to create a residual income, I got a little more intentional.”
For Carol, the most important aspect of being successful in this business is working through difficult times.
“Like most, I have had a lot of drama over the years, and when Isagenix came my way, my daughters were very sick, suffering from a chronic illness,” she said. “I decided to build through that drama.”
“A lot of people can use drama as an excuse to bail, but it’s always going to be there,” she said. “Use it as a springboard to get to the next place, and when you get there, your future self will thank you!”
Lessons Learned as a Network Marketer
- Your job is to be a messenger. At the end of the day, everyone is going to make their own decision. Your job is to share the products, share the opportunity, and give others the tools to succeed, but it’s up to them to make it happen.
- Events can be a game changer. Events are the catapult for so many people who are trying to figure out what they want to do with Isagenix. I’m not sure I would have pursued this business if I had not been given a glimpse of the big picture. Events have brought me where I am today.
- The Isagenix opportunity is exceptional. Kathy, Jim, and Erik have done an incredible job of providing us an opportunity to help so many people on so many levels. I came in for the life-altering products and stayed for the life-changing business.
