Helen Costa-Giles epitomizes selflessness and contribution. As a mother, coach, and career woman, she was spreading herself thin, and her constant stress and busy schedule began to weigh on her.
“I lost myself and my spark,” Helen says. “I didn’t have the balance between family and work. I’ve always been a very energetic person, and I started to lose all of that.”
Helen found herself gaining weight and neglecting her own health, but in her mind, she thought this was just how it had to be.
“I just thought that this is what mom life was supposed to be. Most of the moms that I was around in my environment weren’t very happy about their situations, so I just thought it was typical and normal, and I just had to accept it.”
After a visit to her doctor for her annual checkup, Helen realized how badly her health was being affected. She was headed down a road of chronic health issues and decided she needed to make a change.
“It scared me. I looked at my boys who were very young, and I just kept thinking, ‘There’s got to be more than this. They deserve more.’”
Helen tried every pill, fad, and diet out there but couldn’t find the results she was looking for. But when she began to notice the changes in her best friend after using Isagenix products, Helen knew she had to get on board.
Helen started with Isagenix and the IsaBody Challenge® and immediately began to feel a difference. She felt her energy return, and she started to lose the extra weight. Helen kept her momentum going with her husband who also released an outstanding 60 pounds* with Isagenix.
One of the biggest milestones Helen experienced came about a month into her IsaBody journey. In the past, her routine had always been to settle onto the couch while her two young sons played on the floor. She couldn’t play with them because she had difficulty getting up and down.
“I never felt like a good mom because I wasn’t playing with them the way I should be,” Helen says. “But about a month in, I was actually playing with them instead of dreading the feeling of trying to get up from the floor.”
After focusing on releasing unwanted pounds in her first six months, Helen implemented a workout routine to build lean muscle and discovered her passion for weightlifting.
“Once I started hitting the gym, my body changed shape, and I was building muscle,” Helen says. “Everyone was asking when I had the time to work out. I kept hearing that they never had the time.”
Through Helen’s love for others and for weightlifting, the No More Excuses (NME) Rise ‘N’ Grind workout group was born. She now hosts free 4 a.m. workouts four to six days a week in her garage and driveway for others in her community and surrounding communities. She is passionate about helping those who are on their own health and fitness journeys.
Not only is Helen motivating others to push their limits physically, but she also is a living example. She recently completed the Spartan Beast race at the competitive level, one of the big goals on her vision board. Helen is now preparing to participate in another three Spartan races in 2017 to complete the Trifecta as well as other obstacle races throughout the year.
After completing four IsaBody Challenges, releasing 90 pounds,* and gaining an impressive amount of lean muscle, Helen is a different person. Not only is she the mother she has always wanted to be, Helen now has the time and energy to volunteer in her community and work her full-time job.
“I’m still balancing 50 million plates, but now it’s not exhausting for me to help other people anymore…I’m doing it with ease and it’s much more enjoyable for me to help others when I feel this good,” Helen says.
Helen hopes to retire her husband and then herself to pursue her Isagenix business and other passions full time. She wants to help others while having the flexibility to spend quality time with her family both at home and while traveling.
“It just seems to be a perfect fit for me because I love to help people understand what they are truly capable of. I’ve never realized that I could help people to the extent I have. I’m changing people’s lives!”

Weight loss, muscle gain, lifestyle, and other results depicted here reflect exceptional individual experiences of Isagenix Customers and should not be construed as typical or average. Results vary with individual effort, body composition, eating patterns, time, exercise, and other factors, such as genetic and physiological makeup. In a study performed in 2012 by University of Illinois at Chicago researchers, subjects lost an average of 9 pounds with an average of 2 pounds of the loss from visceral fat after 30 days on an Isagenix System. The subjects also had a greater level of adherence and had more consistent weight loss from week to week compared to subjects on a traditional diet. View the study results.
