As career-focused individuals for more than 20 years, Melinda and Kharn were working up to 80 hours a week in successful corporate positions. They dreamed of starting a family, but between their demanding jobs and various health issues, they couldn’t imagine having the time or energy to devote to raising children.
“We were known to all of our friends as workaholics,” laughed Kharn. “We had great success in our careers, but we were always feeling stressed and run-down. We found ourselves weighing in at the heaviest we had ever been.”
After realizing that their busy lifestyle was taking a serious toll on their health and well-being, the couple worked hard at the gym in an attempt to counteract their unhealthy habits.
“We would go to the gym after a long day at work and push ourselves as hard as we could,” said Melinda, “but we weren’t getting the results we were looking for. I suffered some health issues and was trying my best to get healthy so we could think about having children in the future, but I just didn’t know what I was missing!”
In an attempt to find the missing piece, Melinda turned her attention to nutrition and began to research various nutrition programs online. She discovered Isagenix and became interested when she learned about the products and the 30-Day Guarantee.
Changing Their Views
Shortly thereafter, Melinda and Kharn realized a member of their gym was already using Isagenix. After speaking to her and learning more about the products, the couple ordered their first 30-Day System.
“With the help of the improved nutrition, we released excess weight and experienced a surge in our energy levels,” shared Kharn. “We incorporated Isagenix into our lifestyle and found that we were able to handle stressful situations better, and our performance at the gym improved.”
Friends and family began to notice the change in Kharn and Melinda, and the couple found themselves inundated with requests to share their “secret.”

Due to preconceived ideas about network marketing, she admits to wanting nothing to do with the business.
“We’d spent 20 years as corporate professionals, conditioned to believe there was only one way to earn money,” said Melinda.
Despite this view, it soon became hard for the couple to disassociate themselves with the Isagenix business. Requests continued to flood in from people wanting to gain control of their health, and after some thinking, the couple made the decision to share the Isagenix System with those who were in need of a solution.
“We took our ego out of the equation and realized it wasn’t about us; it was about helping others,” Melinda said.
Learning to Lead
At first, the couple found it challenging to transition to a network marketing role following their corporate background.
“We had years of leadership experience that we could bring to our Isagenix business, but we really had to fine-tune those skills,” said Kharn. “We knew that if we wanted to grow, we had to build our belief in the company and embark on personal development.”
With the encouragement of Isagenix Millionaire* Jen Patch, the couple attended their first Isagenix event, Celebration 2014.
“That event was a defining moment for us,” remembered Melinda. “It was like nothing I’d ever experienced before. When I heard Kathy Coover speak onstage, every hesitation I had about this company was gone, and we left determined to succeed.”
Driven by their newfound passion, the couple attended every corporate event they could to hear the stories of leaders before them.
“We learned that leading people and telling them what to do are two very different things,” they said.
Kharn and Melinda have now learned how to lead by becoming a product of the product and by strengthening their “why.”
Living Their Dreams
As their business began to grow, Kharn and Melinda were able to leave their corporate roles and dedicate their time solely to changing lives. They started working from home, which allowed them the chance to start the family they’d always dreamed of.
“We always wanted children, but it was a dream we had pushed to the back of our minds,” shared Melinda. “Once we regained our health and earned the time flexibility to be at home, we had our two children, and they are the center of our world.”
Kharn and Melinda are proud to be creating a legacy for their children and their family, including being able to support both of their mothers in their retirement years.
“We love that they can spend precious time with their grandchildren,” said Melinda. “That means so much to us, and we are changing so many lives and will continue to work hard every single day to show others that they can do the same.
